Tiffany Kay Look was arrested the evening after a patrol officer saw a front porch on fire in the 500 block of West Second Street at 12:58 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24.
Another officer joined the patrol officer and together they "were able to extinguish the flames preventing the fire from spreading into the house," as stated in the release.
Officers soon figured out that this fire was an act of arson and that gasoline was the accelerator used.
Neighbors shared surveillance video with the officers and helped them identify Look as the suspect.
Look was charged with the following, according to the police and her court docket:
- Arson-Danger Of Death Or Bodily Injury.
- Felony Arson Endangering Property- Reckless Endangerment of Inhabited Buildings.
- Felong Possessing Explosive or Incendiary Material With Intent.
- Felony Criminal Mischief or Damaging Property With Intent Reckless, Or Negligence.
- Misdemeanor Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
- Summary Dangerous Burning.
The police "thank all the residents for their assistance in quickly solving this crime."
The reason Look set the porch on fire remains unclear.
Look has been held in the Dauphin County Prison after failing to post the $50,000 surety bond set by Magisterial District Judge Barbara W. Pianka on Sept. 23, as detailed in her docket.
Her preliminary hearing has been set for 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 3 before Magisterial District Court Dominic Pelino.
